David Allen is a charming speaker and his Getting Things Done is a compelling book. That’s not enough to convince me to run my priorities by file folder, so I am implementing a few moves in the spirit of GTD.
Allen says that clutter steals one’s attention. I’ve worked at pristine, almost zen desks and l’ve worked alongside towering, three-month-old stacks of trash. Cleaner works better for me. If something’s not part of the solution, it’s part of the problem.

Until last week, my stash of business cards from people I once met but will never see again was more than a meter long. Now they are landfill. This feels almost as good as the day Microsoft Outlook converted two years of email into confetti. Good riddance. After all, this is the year of Pull.
