20

20Twenty seconds into an online conference I was leading for consultants, Latte began barking ferociously out in front. I put the phone on mute, ran outdoors, and signed for a FedEx package. Inside were five copies of 20, An Anthology Celebrating the Twentieth Anniversary of the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates.

A more eclectic group of authors would be hard to find. Among the writers: Vaclav Havel, Jan Morris, Craig Barrett, Sonia Gandhi, Kofi Annan, V.S. Naipaul, Prince Charles, the Aga Khan, Sam Palmisano, Jeff Immelt, Anna Quindlen, and Jay Cross. It’s a handsome tome, 600 pages, and I’m looking forward to reading it. The Emirates is an amazing place.
